A fascinating exploratory cruise with ship-to-shore helicopter transfers, starting in Bluff, New Zealand, sailing to Campbell Island to observe the southern royal albatrosses, move further south to Cape Adare and sailing into the fascinating Ross Sea Region with incredible ice-bergs and thrilling shore landings with our helicopters to the huts of the British Polar explorers Scott and Shackleton and the McMurdo Dry Valleys, one of the driest places on earth and similar to the planet Mars.
At sea and close to the coast we will look out for orcas and emperor penguins. We head further east through the Bellingshausen Sea and visit one of the most remote islands on earth, Peter I Island. We will make additional landings in the southern Antarctic Peninsula, cross the Polar Circle and end our voyage in Ushuaia, Argentina.
